Spoiled

So LOTS of stuff going on in our lives right now! Super exciting stuff! All our opportunities came all at once. Within two weeks we have sold both our vehicles, bought a different, more reliable truck, moved to a new nicer apartment, and got ourselves a used washer and dryer. We are totally living the high life! I feel so spoiled! More pictures and details to come, including highlights from our most interesting old place, which we do not miss in the least bit. Yay for everything!

P.S. Our trip is in a week and a half. Awesomeness! This blog is going to explode soon....

My Wonderful Husband

I am so blessed to have found such a amazing person as my eternal companion! Anyone that knows him knows what a talented and smart man he is. I am continually amazed at what he can do and rarely find something that he is only mediocre at!
This Monday he had a test in his Instruments class (not musical instruments, but instruments that one may have to learn for mechanical engineering.... leave it to the wife to explain) and he got an 89! Which is absolutely incredible for an engineer! And better yet, he was the class high! Out of almost a hundred other super smart mechanical engineers, he got the highest. I am so proud of him and am amazed at his hard work and dedication to his school work.

Plus, he is extremely handsome. How did I get so lucky?!

Valentines Highlights

Adorable New Nephew
Little Maughan

Matt and Carla's hospitality and that dang cute meatball

Clark Planetarium
Our Valentine's Date

This is the coolest marble maze thing. Way cool. Mark now thinks he is going to build one throughout the whole house that we are going to build one day. I love the idea

We also watched a lot of Olympics and got to see DaNell, up from Arizona to help with the baby! Also this weekend, Mark got Salmonella poisoning. That was not so much a highlight, but it happened. He is doing much better now but that is definitely not something anyone should have to deal with. Thanks Matt and Carla for letting us stay! Thank Melina and Spencer for letting us come see that precious new addition to the family.

How very impressed I am

The way the things are going in this world, meaning so electronic, and everything online. It has made me really start scrutinizing the websites I visit or that I come into contact with. There are a lot of really nice web pages out there; very fancy, user friendly, fun, ect. Also the speed of the website has a big impact on how I feel about the site. Take Utah State University's site for example, I use it a lot being a student, very fun, pretty user friendly, but my goodness is it so slow. I hate using it cause it's so slow. There is another site that I am always impressed with and always have been. LDS.org The most user friendly site I have seen. One of THE fastest sites I have visited, especially for the amount of information they have on that site. So informative, makes planning a talk or a lesson or anything else you want so easy. The site is truly inspired, just like the leaders of the church.

It was just one of those little things today that really made me smile extra big today.

USU Spectrum

Utah State's famous spectrum is known to be one of the HARDEST places to play in. Especially when it comes to men's basketball. Why? Simply stated- the crazy - die hard - aggie fans til the day they die crowd. They have been known to get into players heads, turn the game into the outcome they want, and now be as in sync as the mormon tabernacle choir! The aggies RARELY lose in the spectrum. In my 3 years of aggie men's basketball games, I have never seen a loss.... expect loss of voices.

This youtube video is from the Nevada/USU game in the spectrum on ESPN. The winning team/losing chant. We love our aggies and their spirit, and feel sorry for anyone who has to play in that building!!

Need a self-esteem boost?

Watch Mr. T's motivational movie, "Be Somebody, or Be Somebody's Fool." Straight from the 80's, this movie is sure to raise your spirits and make your side hurt. Any time we are down, we just put this on, and we are sure to be crying with laughter by the end of the hour. You can find some of the sub sections of this movie on youtube, we highly recommend "Treat your mother right."

Eat your heart out...

Glades Go West

Road trip! Spring break is coming up and we decided we would love to see Washington, and maybe the Redwoods, and drive the coast. You know, the ultimate road trip. Luckily, we were talking with our new found friends in our ward, Jeremy and Kelsie Frint, and we found out that they had the exact same trip in mind. Woah! So we did as any poor couple would do, and we asked to tag along. Luckily they had the same idea in mind, tis cheaper that way, and they have relatives we can stay with. Sweet!
We have been spending a lot of time with these new friends, and we are finding that they are perfect for us; great church buddies, great game buddies, and most definitely going to be great road trip buddies, and we are all are super excited.
The plan as of right now? Seattle, a cute little bed and breakfast, the fish market, ferries, tidepools, cheap cabins, Forks Washington (too bad none of us are huge twilight fans, but we will bring something back for those of you that are), gorgeous coast, camping in cold rain, and some of the worlds largest trees. We only wish that we had more than a week!

Sweetness

Last week I received an 2 emails from Utah State University, of which I almost deleted. I am glad I didn't! These emails told me that I have been nominated for 2 of the 5 most highly coveted awards on campus, Woman of the Year Award, and the Val R. Christensen Service award. These are part of the Robbins awards (kinda oscar-like-winning, with pretty formal gowns and a ball after wards). Now I just need to fill out a huge biography and hope that I get into the top 5 so my sweetheart and I can dress up and feel special. :) Even though I can think of millions of people that deserve these more than I do, it has been SUCH an honor to know that some of my peers and teachers thought of me! Heavenly Father just continues to show us how much he cares, and how much we mean to him!

I know this is only possible because I have the opportunity to be a part of the BEST organization on campus, and that is the service center. It's amazing what a campus can get together and create. I am continually amazing with the people there, the 19 huge programs that are a part of the service center, and how many students here at USU are so willing to give!

Black Bean Chaos

How to have as much fun as me....

1. Place leftover black beans in a cheapo container
2. Place cheapo container full of black beans on top of the fridge, make sure it is slightly overhanging the freezer door
3. Open freezer door
4. Watch in shock

Walaa!

Oh the pictures don't even explain the mess that was made.... miraculously, there was not a drop on that pressure cooker on the ground. Some call it crazy.... so do we.

New Calling

We have been asked to teach the Marriage and Family Relations class in our ward, since we are such experts already. Our first lesson was this last sun and it was a blast. It was on positive communication. It's so neat to prepare together and teach together. We highly recommend it!
